The South Carolina Supreme Court has placed a groundbreaking measure that may keep hundreds of financially struggling families in their homes. This measure may buy them time while awaiting approval for lower payments through a $175 Billion federal program. The new procedure stalls certain foreclosures until lenders overwhelmed with request for lower mortgage payments have time to look over each individual homeowner’s case. Many financially strapped James Island real estate owners will be affected by this landmark SC Supreme court decision.
